Chest pain is a very common condition. More than 10 million cases of chest pain are reported every year. Chest pain is also referred to as angina. Angina is caused when the heart muscle does not get enough oxygen blood.  Chest pain is a common symptom of many other diseases.  Angina is classified into 3 categories.

  • Stable angina: It is a common type of chest pain. Stable angina can be cured through proper medication and rest. In this condition heart is pumping faster than its usual speed.
  • Unstable angina: It is an irregular pattern of the heart and is less common when compared to stable angina.
  • Variant angina – This type of chest pain reduces the blood flow to heart due to abnormal narrowing of blood vessels.

Treatment

Chest pain can be treated on early diagnosis. The common natural remedies used to cure chest pain are:

  • Hawthorn

Hawthorn is a plant and its leaves, flowers and berries are used to make medicine. It is used to cure many diseases like chest pain, congestive heart failure and irregular heartbeat. You can use hawthorn that helps in effectively curing chest pain at the earliest.

  • Garlic

Garlic is one of the most effective remedy used as a cure for chest pain. Garlic helps in improving the flow of oxygen-rich blood to your heart. Take half teaspoon of garlic juice and add it to a cup of hot water and then drink.  Eat 1-2 garlic cloves with water every morning on an empty stomach for chest pain cure.

  • Ginger

Ginger is commonly used to cure chest pain. Ginger contains gingerol that helps in reducing cholesterol levels. Ginger also has antioxidant property. It protects the blood vessels from damage due to high levels of cholesterol.

Drinking a cup of ginger tea regularly can cure chest pain. Take 1 teaspoon of grated ginger and add to a cup of hot water to make ginger tea. To improve the cardiovascular health, eat a small piece of raw ginger on an empty stomach daily.

  • Turmeric

Turmeric is also an effective home remedy for chest pain cure. Turmeric contains curcumin. Curcumin is an active ingredient that helps in reducing cholesterol oxidation, plaque build-up and clot formation.

  • Almonds

Almonds are rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids, potassium and magnesium. Almonds help in lowering the cholesterol levels and prevent the future angina problems.

  • Basil

The magnesium content present in basil promotes blood flow. Promoting blood flow helps the blood vessels to relax. Basil is also rich in antioxidant vitamin A that prevents the cholesterol build-up in the blood vessels. Basil is one of the important cures for chest pain used from olden days.

Drink a cup of basil tea or chew 8-10 fresh basil leaves during chest pain as it can give you instant relief. Take 1 teaspoon of fresh basil juice along with 1 teaspoon of honey daily on an empty stomach to prevent chest pain. Drinking basil juice also helps in improving the condition of your heart.

  • Alfalfa

Alfalfa can cure chest pain and it helps in balancing the cholesterol levels in the body. Alfalfa contains chlorophyll that helps in softening arteries and reduces the frequent risks of chest pain.

Drinking warm alfalfa tea helps in getting relief from chest pain. Alfalfa tea can be prepared by adding 1 teaspoon of dried alfalfa leaves to a cup of hot water.

  • Citrus fruits

The best natural home remedy to reduce chest pain is to make use of fresh citrus fruits. Citrus fruits improve the proper functioning and pumping of heart. Fruits like oranges, lemon and grapefruit can reduce the chest pain or angina.

Lemon water can give you instant relief from chest pain. Add fresh lemon juice in a glass of warm water and add honey to it. Drink the mixture to prevent and cure chest pain.

  • Cayenne pepper

Cayenne pepper also called as red hot chilli pepper or cow-horn pepper also helps in reducing chest pain. Cayenne pepper is rich in capsaicin that has anti-inflammatory properties. Cayenne pepper works as blood regulator that helps in restoring blood flow to your heart.

The permanent cure for chest pain is possible with cayenne pepper. To get instant relief from chest pain add half teaspoon of cayenne pepper powder to a glass of milk or any fruit juice and drink.

  • Hibiscus tea

  • Pomegranate juice

Pomegranate juice helps in reducing oxidative stress and prevents your arteries from severe damage.  Drinking pomegranate juice helps in opening up your arteries by clearing fatty acid deposits. Pomegranate juice has equal effects on both men and women and can cure chest pain.

  • Licorice root

Licorice root is generally used in preparation of ayurvedic medicine. It helps in treating diarrhoea, stomach problems along with chest pain. Licorice is rich in flavonoids that flushes the body from harmful toxins and thereby opens up the arteries for proper blood flow.

  • Oregano oil

Oregano oil is famous for its anti-bacterial, antiviral and anti-fungal properties. Oregano is also useful in curing chest pain and reduces the risk of respiratory problems.

  • Fenugreek seeds

Fenugreek seeds are used in ayurvedic medicines and thus promote the proper functioning of heart. Fenugreek seeds also help in reducing bad cholesterol. It is also effective in relieving congestion or tightness in chest.

Take 1 teaspoon of fenugreek seeds in a cup of water and boil it till water reduced to half. Strain it and add honey to it. Drink 2 cups of water daily to prevent chest pain. You can also soak the fenugreek seeds in a glass of water and keep it overnight and eat them next morning on an empty stomach to avoid chest pain incidents.

Whenever you experience chest pain, you need to first consult your doctor to know the root cause of the disease. After diagnosis the natural remedies can be used to cure chest pain if there is no complex issue reported on diagnosis.
