According to the National Psoriasis Foundation, ACV could greatly help with scalp itches. In case you are trying apple cider vinegar to treat scalp psoriasis, you can apply ACV two to three times a week. Do not apply it directly on the scalp as it could cause a burning sensation. Make sure to mix one cup of water to every teaspoon of ACV you use. Nevertheless, there are other ways you could use ACV for psoriasis.

1. Baking soda and ACV

  1. Take one tablespoon of ACV and mix it with one tablespoon of baking soda.
  2. Add water as required to make a mixture.
  3. Now, take a cotton ball and apply the solution to the affected areas and leave it for 40 minutes and later take a shower.
  4. You can repeat this process three to four times a week or as often as required.

2. Honey and ACV

  1. Take one or two teaspoons of honey and mix it with one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar.
  2. Add a pinch of cinnamon and then water as required to make the solution.
  3. You can repeat this process either daily or as required.

3. Lime juice and ACV

  1. Take a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and mix it with one tablespoon of lime juice.
  2. Now, add one-fourth teaspoon of cayenne pepper and half a teaspoon of unprocessed, raw honey.
  3. Add water as required to the mixture.
  4. Now, drink the solution. You can consume this drink two times daily.

4. Olive oil and ACV

  1. Take two tablespoons of unprocessed, raw olive oil and mix it with two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar.
  2. Add water as required to make the solution.
  3. Now, take a cotton ball and dip it in the solution to apply to the affected areas.
  4. Keep this for a couple of hours. If possible, leave it overnight.
  5. In the morning, take a shower with lukewarm water.
  6. You can repeat this process once a day or as required.

Although there are no potential risks or effects of either drinking apple cider vinegar topically or applying it on the skin, it is still better to consult a doctor before using it for treating psoriasis(2). Make sure not to use it directly as it is high in acidic properties and could lead to burning sensations.
