Easy Steps to Achieve Soft, Smooth Legs

Step 1: Exfoliate

Dead skin cells can make your skin feel bumpy, so shedding them away is the initial step. Using a body exfoliator before hair removal helps. Be sure to exfoliate your legs a few hours before any hair removal process, and use a gentle exfoliant.

Step 2: Pick out the Right Razor

Not all razors are made similarly. Some razors are enhanced with moisture strips to help keep irritation at bay on your legs. Grabbing a high-quality razor can make a massive difference to the skin on your legs. To help avoid tugs, nicks,  and scrapes, do your research on your razors before buying them.

Step 3: Wet Your Legs Before Shaving

Never under any circumstance—try to shave your legs when they’re dry. Dry shaving can result in itchy bumps and irritation. Be sure you let your legs soak in water before shaving. When shaving in the shower, give your skin some time to get wet first.

Step 4: Use a Gentle Body Wash

Before you save, wash your legs with a mild body wash that’s enriched with hydrating properties. A gentle body wash that is enriched with almond oil can give your skin a boost of moisture while cleansing your body skin.

Step 5: Use a Shaving Cream

We can’t tell you enough how vital it is to use shaving cream while you shave. It varies from your typical soap because most shaving creams are enhanced to reduce friction between the skin and razor. If you want to help prevent scrapes and cuts, you should always use shaving cream before picking up the razor.

Step 6: Shave Cautiously

While you’re shaving your legs, do it with extra care. Shave smoothly, and shave small portions at a time. Always clean off your razor after shaving each little section, and be sure you’re shaving in the direction of your hair growth. Shaving in the course of hair growth is helpful. Avoid tugging and pulling, and that can cause cuts and ingrown hairs.

Step 8: Use a Broad-Spectrum Sunscreen

Your face isn’t the only one that needs UV protection. Skipping on sunscreen on exposed areas of skin can leave your skin open to sun damage. If you’re wearing a dress, skirt, or shorts with your legs exposed, apply a sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 30 before going outdoors and reapply at least every two hours.

Step 9: Change Your Razor Head

Using a flat, old razor head likely won’t end in a clean shave. Not only can this dull razor head end up causing ingrown hairs and irritation, but it’s also extremely unhygienic. If you shave frequently, make sure you change your razor head after every five uses to keep your shaving routine clean and efficient.

You may not be aware, but those yummy summer cocktails like daiquiris, mojitos, sangrias, and wine slushies mean you’ll need to keep hydrating all night long since alcohol drains water from the body.

If you want your legs to look healthy, moisturized, and hydrated, you’ll need to do more than moisturize and exfoliate. Drink more water, and you’ll begin to notice a boost in your beauty and all-around wellness.

Step 11: Minimize Cottage Cheese

Cellulite is all too common in the legs, especially with women . You must be consistent with your exercise and diet to achieve brilliant results.

Step 12: Try a Weight Training Program

That’s not always easy. Try a weight training program to firm and tone the leg muscles. Lunges and Squats are excellent exercises that target the leg muscles.
