Treatment: 1 tablespoon of virgin coconut oil in your regular diet. You can mix it in your salads and consume just like that. Repeat it as long as symptoms persist.

2. Fenugreek Seeds

Fenugreek seeds not only add flavour to your curries but also have several health benefits.  When excessive insulin is secreted that is not used by the pancreas, it releases extremeamount of testosterone. While treating PCOS, the seeds actively balance the insulin level and glucose tolerance in our bodies. It also keeps the hormone, testosterone in check.

3. Indian Gooseberry or Amla

They stabilise insulin levels and regulate the androgens that are not used due to lack of ovulation during PCOS. Basil leaves are a great source of antioxidant as well.

Treatment: Chew 10 – 12 fresh basil leaves on empty stomach every morning. Alternatively, boil the leaves in 1 cup water and drink the liquid throughout your day. It has no side effects and you can have it as long as you want.

5. Cinnamon

Cinnamon has been used in many traditional as well as Ayurveda medications. It is a versatile ingredient as it goes well with desserts and is a perfect spice for curries and stews. It burns calories and boosts your metabolism and thusly controls your blood sugar level. It also helps to combat insulin sensitivity.

Treatment: Add a stick of cinnamon or 1 tsp of cinnamon powder in your tea or juices and smoothies. Repeat twice, everyday.

Treatment: Brew fresh green leaves in one cup of water for 3 – 5 minutes. Drink the tea any time of the day. You can also use green tea bags instead of leaves. To enhance the taste, you can add few drops of honey. Don’t add milk or sugar.

7. Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar has several medicinal values and one of them is being effective home remedies for PCOS. It is the most widely recommended option to treat the condition. It balances your body pH percentage efficiently and also controls the time to time hormonal imbalance. It further curbs the insulin level, thereby directly effecting PCOS positively.

Treatment: In a glass of warm water mix two tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and take the concussion in empty stomach. Do not have vinegar directly. Make sure you dilute it. Have this mixture 2 – 3 times a day. However, start with 1 dosage a day and increase its frequency.
