Shikakai shampoo has been used in India for Ayurveda as a replacement for cosmetic shampoos. The herb is full of antioxidants and vitamins that are required to maintain healthy hair. Shikakai powder is readily available in the stores and makes a cheaper, natural alternative to shampoos.

½ tsp shikakai powder, 1 tbsp of any cream, 1 tsp almond powder, 1 tsp turmeric.
Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and add some honey to it. Use this as a scrub for your skin to treat spots and nourish your skin.
Using this every day will eliminate the dead skin cells from your body and result in glowing skin.

1 tbsp dried reetha pods, 2 tbsp amla powder,1 tbsp dry shikakai pods.
Take a pan and soak the dried reetha pods and shikakai pods overnight. Next morning add amla powder to it and boil for 15 minutes on medium-low heat. Mash it and make a pulp from the fruits. Wash the hair with this. It is also known as ‘no poo’ shikakai shampoo.
Use it thrice weekly.
Neem leaves powder, camphor oil, sesame oil, shikakai powder. The ratio of the proportion being ½:2:1:1
Take all the ingredients and mix well in a bowl. To make it more liquid, add sesame oil but not water. Take this solution to apply to the hair scalp and let it rest for 20 minutes. Spread a white paper on the floor and then comb hair with a fine teeth comb. Once they fall off the hair, crush them with the nail of thumb to kill them.
Repeat thrice every week.

Some dry shells of shikakai and coconut oil.
Crush the dry shells of shikakai and boil them in a pan with coconut oil. After 20 minutes of simmering it, strain the mixture and use the oil to apply to the hair, especially at the tips. Use this before you shampoo or leave it overnight.

You can mix shikakai powder with aloe vera gel thrice weekly to moisturize your skin and also add some oats powder to exfoliate your skin using it as a scrub.
